Trinity House In the Round will welcome Bobby Pennock, Tracy Kash and Terry Birkett on September 24, at 8:00 p.m. for a concert in front of a small in person audience. The Youtube Premier will take place on October 9, 2021.
Bobby Pennock is an accomplished singer/songwriter whose style, albeit unique, is reminiscent of those celebrated folksingers of the 1960s and 70s, like Paul Simon and Harry Chapin (with a heaping helping of The Beatles thrown in). Listening to him perform is like watching a good magician. When it’s over, you can’t help but ask: How did he do that? Bobby’s album, 10,000 Stories, is packed with such lyrical tricks – a blend of humor, caged emotion, suburban zen – delivered innocently enough inside smooth vocals and fetching guitar work.
When not performing solo, Bobby can be seen on stages around and about with a band of songwriters known as Taller Than They Appear.
Tracy Kash began her musical life as a classical musician. She received a Bachelor’s degree from University of North Texas- and a Master’s degree from the venerable Boston Conservatory, in orchestral music and music theory. Her 4th studio album, Fierce, was nominated for a 2020 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding World Music Recording. Her previous releases were also nominated for Detroit Music Awards and her 2010 release, “Sound Truth” was chosen as one of the “Top 10 of 2010” by the Detroit MetroTimes culture magazine. She is currently collaborating with award-winning poet Diane DeCillis on creating a musical of the absurd. She has also written companion music for the historical novel “Remembrance”, by Heather Buchanan and inspired by the Harlem Hellfighters during World War I. Most recently she was recognized with a 2021 Detroit Music Award for Outstanding World Vocalist.
