The Steve Taylor Three began when Bryan Frink (bass, vocals) and Carey Weaver (drums, vocals) decided to show up unannounced to some of Steve Taylor’s solo acoustic gigs and formed a sort of guerrilla rhythm section. After a few years of playing shows, not rehearsing and drinking heavily the trio began writing and recording original material that became their debut album “Check Your Baggage”. The album was a hit with fans and the press, some of whom called the album “pretty good.”
The three musicians weave emotion, reflections of life and family, and vast experience into songs that would be a great soundtrack for a long drive across the country. After traveling to Nashville and Memphis for more shows and recording sessions, their second album “The Tennessee Sessions” was released in 2018. Veteran pedal steel player Larry Labeck often joins the band adding to their Americana sound.
This Fall they released their latest album, “Temporary Heart.” You can find The Steve Taylor Three’s music streaming wherever finer music is streamed.
Dan Cafferty will open the show. He regularly performs his original compositions solo across Michigan. His songs cross many genres. Humor, (sometimes subtle, sometimes not), seems to find its many into many of his composition along side his intricate guitar work.
The eclectic nature of his 4 studio albums are reflective of his diverse influences. His 5th albums is due out of the late fall of 2024. He can also be seen performing with his band and the Hot Rod Cherries.
