Louise Mosrie and Andy Baker – May 7, 2022

May 7, 2022 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

$20.00

Michigan songwriter Andy Baker and Massachusetts songwriter Louise Mosrie team up to share songs, stories and a few chuckles on the Trinity House stage! Louise and Andy met up after they both won the 2020 Kerrville Newfolk Songwriting Competition, and their “in the round” chemistry and contrasting styles will make for a memorable evening of original music.

Andy Baker has spent 3 decades captivating audiences with his unique style of thoughtful midwestern folk. His recent accolades include winning the 2020 Kerrville Newfolk Songwriting Competition, as well as being featured as an Emerging Artist at the 2020 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in New York. His 2020 album “North Country Sky” spent a number of months on the National Folk DJ charts, and Jon Stein, host of WTBQ’s Hootenany Cafe declares “Andy weaves breathtaking lyrics and melodies…He left me wanting more…much more!”

Louise grew up on a farm in middle TN with English parents; is a late bloomer; writes lots of Americana-folk story songs and tells the stories behind them; has won several nationally known songwriting contests like Kerrville New Folk, Telluride Troubadour, Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist and Rocky Mtn. Folks Fest.

Compared to Nanci Griffith, Emmy Lou Harris and Alison Krauss, she’s opened shows for America, Joe Ely, Jonatha Brooke, Allison Moorer, Greg Trooper, Malcomb Holcombe, Mindy Smith and Cliff Eberhardt. She’s played prestigious venues like The Birchmere, The Bluebird Café, Eddie’s Attic and Club Passim.
