Carolyn Striho is a highly regarded Detroit songwriter, singer, performer, musician and poet whose songs are “from the silver edge of midnight (All Music Guide).” Carolyn’s alluring vocal delivery with a rock and roll folk/eclectic sound has reached audiences everywhere. She was back on The Grammy Awards First Ballot again this year 2024. She’s also won eleven Detroit Music Awards. Carolyn’s performed on tour in Italy, England, and Japan, and with Patti Smith, Don Was in Detroit, with Iggy Pop, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Yoko Ono, Steve Earle, Sinead O’Connor, Tori Amos, and performed at Lollapalooza and much more.
Scott Dailey’s magical guitar playing, vocals and songwriting has led Scott to receiving Detroit music awards and acclaim. Scott has played throughout the world from Detroit to northern Michigan to Nashville and shows in in the U.K. and Italy. His career spans from The Stingrays to shows with Nick Lowe, The Ventures, Junior Walker & the All-Stars and more. As Inner Door Music said, “when Scott starts singing, people stop talking and listen.” He is a talented, respected artist with a delightful energy.
Recipient of the Detroit Music Awards for Outstanding Americana Songwriter, Mary McGuire has a myriad of influences from growing up in Detroit during the 70s. She was schooled by the jocks at America’s first underground radio stations, WABX, WRIF, W4, and more. Album rock had a major influence on her acoustic rock, folk, folk-rock, rock, progressive rock, southern rock, and blues music education.
Mario Resto was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in the Detroit area. His guitar playing began at age seven and later he took up drums, piano, bass and singing. He began composing musical pieces and songs at age fourteen. Through the following years he would perform his music with “Boy Smiling”, a band he formed with his younger brother (Oscar Award Winner) Luis Resto. Having studied at the University of Michigan under Pulitzer Prize and Grammy Award winning composer Bill Bolcom, Mario opened up his compositional abilities even more. Winning numerous awards for his post-scoring and national broadcast commercial creativity. His first single on Atlantic Records “Miami” was recognized in Billboard Magazine as possessing, “distinctive writing and arranging”.
With musical influences from rock, jazz, rhythm and blues, classical and latin music, Mario’s compositional output is quite eclectic. He has done award winning TV and Radio projects for Chrysler, Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, McDonalds, K Mart, MTV just to name a few. Also longer form projects for The Henry Ford Foundation, United Way, United Foundation, UAW, Ford Design, 1996 Soccer Olympics Opening Ceremony and many more.
